Inspiration comes from everywhere and anywhere for me. It can be a fragment of an overheard conversation or something I misread somewhere. I can see something on the street that might start off a plot in my head or a memory might trigger it off.
My writing always starts with music, I'll choose something right for the mood of the book and then my fingers start typing away.
The important thing for me is to be surrounded by inspiration, from my friends and family, to the place I live in, find what inspires you and create something.

Read everything you can get your hands on, across different genres that you might never think of picking up.
Write every day! I know plenty of my friends who say to me, 'Oh I always wanted to be a writer', but they never write. If you only wrote 500 words a day, in a year you'd have written 182,500 words.
So read and write, but please start writing today!

For me it seems almost magical that I can write a story and someone else halfway around the world will be reading it. I suppose like most writers I wrote as a child and teenager, but no one really sees what you've written. If you told eight year old me that someone in another country would be reading my books one day I don't think I would have believed it. So the best thing for me, apart from the actual writing itself, has to be the ability to share my writing with others.

I have every sympathy with anyone suffering from this, because it is very real. I suppose every writer must have at sometime or other felt like inspiration had taken a holiday and took your entire flow of words with it for company. But I try to not empower it so I will read a book, go to the cinema, listen to music. Sometimes taking your mind completely off the problem can solve it.
