I must admit, I don't have a plan. The marketing programs I've tried have not paid for themselves. Moreover, Amazon uses reviews strategically. Before they bought Goodreads, I had 102 reviews on Goodreads. Now, I have 33. Its algorithm, being sales-based, is the big obstacle on Amazon. So, reviews haven't done me a lot of good on Amazon or anywhere else.

Frankly, I can't think of a single example.

In Milky Way Tango, Jimmy lives for a while on a navigational array next to a nebula. I'd like to do that. It'd be beautiful.

This summer I'm reading the books in Edward Robertson's Rebel Stars series. I admire his writing. I've got one to go - Stardust.

My most recent book is Milky Way Gala, which is a romance and survival story wrapped up in a space opera. That is perhaps not the smartest marketing decision I ever made. In any event, I like the story as it turned out.

I've never suffered from writer's block. I suffer from the opposite - there's always too much to do, not enough time to do it.

Many people want to be writers. Far fewer are willing to put in the work to produce a story or a novel. It is not the healthiest job - you sit and think and conjure.
If you discover that you are one of the few, then go for it. For me, it is fun conjuring up stories and trying to present them to the public. I have a genuine taste for that. If you don't feel that way, then take a vacation or get a real job.

Don't do this for the money.

I don't rely entirely on inspiration. Instead, I get into a mindset of writing short stories based on whatever I am seeing or thinking from day to day. After a while, I examine the collection, toss out the losers and start working on the better stories. At the moment, after I finish everything I started, there are three novels and maybe two novellas in the pipeline. I'll be busy with that for a while.
