Alice Layne Sometimes just taking a day away from writing can really help. Another way I go about getting around writer's block is to shelf the idea that has me stumped and write a few hundred words about another idea on my mind. That usually recharges me enough to finish one of those two stories. When you're done with one, you might go to the other with renewed vitality.
Alice Layne I like to think of a story concept as a seed. I think of the most interesting thing in the moment and question where it might go. What personalities might clash and mesh at the same time? The prickly brat and a no-nonsense professor, for instance, one is used to getting their way, the other used to having to discipline students. I like the idea, so I take add on a few personality quirks and write that scene.
Alice Layne The best thing about being a writer for me is knowing that my readers enjoy what I do. I know I can't please everyone, but if I can get my stories in front of anyone and have them see that I love what I do, that's wonderful. There is something beautiful about sharing my fantasies with people and having them love them as well.
Alice Layne I'm working on a futa story about an eighteen-year-old woman starting college in a new town told from the first person perspective. I enjoy reading the first person much more, but my background told me to try the third person. Hopefully, my writing continues to improve as I find my voice!
