Sydney, thank you! Well, I'm so relieved that readers like my food descriptions, but I never thought of myself as a person who can write about food. I guess I tried not to think of food and flavor alone, but food and emotions and memories. Flavor is fleeting while emotions and memories last longer!

I walk away.
For a short amount of time, that is. It's easy to get stuck in your world and not have a way out of it. You have to physically remove yourself from your work. I listen to music. I dive back into a short story. I read. A lot.
Then, when I return, my mind feels lighter, and I can see a way out of that writer's block.
