Many years ago, I was flying home from Portland after being present at the birth of my first grandson. As I reflected on his loving and welcomed entry into the world, I was struck by the fact that it certainly isn't that way for many babies and moms. Perhaps I could write about a woman searching for the child she was forced to give up because she was sixteen. The movie "Philomena" came out. I read about cults. Blood Draw gestated until I joined the Mac's Backs Fiction Writers Group.

I don't believe in writer's block. For me, it is procrastination. I also think the Morning Pages (Julia Cameron) prevents writer's block.
