Fortunately, I never suffer from writer's block, I always have the question... "What if?" when I look at any object or situation.
For instance; What if my answers were to be seen by a major publisher, who was impressed enough to want to sign me up, only... his major competitor was also after my signature and was known to use dirty tricks... All that just from writing this answer...

When I read my book over, I do so lots of times, trying to ensure everything is correct. I'm constantly amazed with the book, scarcely able to believe that it was me who wrote it!

Write! Seriously, just write. Just put a certain amount of time aside each day to write. If you only write 500 words per day, that equals 182, 500 words a year...
A lot of words... and as you edit you are surely going to find at least one book!

I'm currently working on "The Third Eye'. A novel about a man who nearly died in a road crash, then underwent a procedure to save his life which had totally unexpected consequences. British Intelligence Services wanted to use his services, while a very powerful world organisation wants to kill him to save being exposed!

Every story I write happens with a question, most of the time the question is "What if?" In the case of my story "The Santa Stone", the question was, "Where did Santa come from?" This from one of the grandchildren... When I replied, "He comes from the North Pole." I was met with a rather testy. "No, how did he come to be?" A great question!
The Santa Stone contains the answer to that question...

Listening to people say they couldn't understand why, if there is a God, why he allows the evil things that happen in the world.
So the question occurred to me; If there is a God and he was capable of being offended by all the bad press he got, what would he do? So, "One Man's Fault" and the sequel "The Beholden" came into being. It is not a religious text at all, simply the story of a man who has to 'Understand God' or God will replace Humanity on the Planet with another species who would understand him... Which begets the question. "How on Earth can anybody understand a Deity?"
