Francesca Riley Hi Carolyn,
Thanks for your question. No, there isn't a cliffhanger ending to book one. I was told when I was writing it that it was really important to have a satisfying ending, so I really wrapped the story up. A bit too much, I think. So, when I revised it and published version 2, I tried to add a little more tension at the end so readers would get that there was more to come regarding Hunter and Skye. Book one wraps up the mystery of Skye's mother and sets up for book two. There is a cliffhanger ending to book 2 (see, learning! lol).

Francesca Riley Hi Juwairiya,
thanks so much for reading Find Me (and for loving it!) and for your questions.
1, I have an email sign-up option at the back of Find Me, and on my website, you can email me that way. I haven't been sending emails to my readers recently because - answer to question 3 - I'm not writing anything at the moment, although I do have some ideas I'm mulling over. I have to be really engaged to write, so I'm letting my ideas brew. Also, I loved Immersed so much, I was pretty sad they didn't find the audience I thought they would; still processing that... And answer to question 2 is long and complicated, but essentially I wanted to write my own kind of 'Twilight' with a fairytale mythology feeling, and set it in and around the sea, which I love. I also thought I needed to be completely original, although I've learned since that's not the best way to find an audience, so I'm grateful you are enjoying Immersed so far!

Francesca Riley It wasn't 'til she saw the row of small, fresh graves from her barred window that the bloody dirt beneath her fingernails, and the fear on her mother's face, both made sense. The quite snick of the flimsy lock being secured made her grin, even as she reached for the doorknob, a howl building in her chest.
Francesca Riley For me it would have to be Narnia in the Golden Age of the Pevensies, and just explore.
Francesca Riley Cuckoo Song by Frances Hardinge, Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, and if I have time I want to re-read The Princess and the Goblin and The Princess and Curdie by George MacDonald, and the Hunger Games trilogy...again
Francesca Riley I think about the big picture, the story I wanted to tell, the places I wanted my story to go, and then I bring it back to the next step in the story, whose turn is it to speak, what are they going through and with who, and I start writing their story down.
Francesca Riley Two best things:
1: Creating new worlds and characters and hanging out there with them.
2: Finding out other people are hanging out with your characters in the world you've created and loving them too.
Francesca Riley Allow yourself to receive criticism from experienced authors. Storytelling is a talent, but to make the most of the talent, we need skill which comes through learning and practice. If someone is kind enough to let you benefit from their experience to help you improve, embrace it, feel the pain (it really hurts!) and develop into a better writer. Improving never stops, but your skin will toughen, it will hurt less, and you will be so grateful for all of the wise input into your writing.
Francesca Riley Book three of Immersed series. No title for book three yet as there may be a book four which will change the options.
Francesca Riley It's an addiction! I love my characters and their journey. I can't wait to see what happens next for them, and share it while it does, it's an amazing privilege.
Francesca Riley My most recent book is the third sequel in the Immersed series. Skye and Hunter face darker consequences to what happened at the end of Find Me (book one) , and to what is about to happen in Follow Me (book two).
