Mirà Kanehl The Weight of Ink, The Other Boleyn Girl, the entire Sherlock Holmes collection (again), the entire Outlander series (again), the Last Kingdom series (again), and more ...
Mirà Kanehl How my father and I both ended up in India at the same time without knowing the other went there.
Mirà Kanehl Different things. I used to just sit and close my eyes and take a mental stroll into the story until I was inspired again. It doesn't always work and takes a lot of discipline. Sometimes I go outside for a few minutes, in the garden or just on a bench and take a few breaths. Other times I focus on cover art, marketing, and fun giveaways.
Mirà Kanehl For me, I'm literally fulfilling my dream. I knew I wanted to be an author since kindergarten (which doesn't mean I was inherently good at writing, I worked very hard for it, and still do--one never stops learning). So I enjoy waking up in the morning, excited to continue where I left off the day before.
Mirà Kanehl Get feedback on your work. Use the tools available. Write a lot and don't fear editing/deleting/rewriting. Sometimes things just don't work, but that doesn't mean we have to give up. If you have an idea behind what you wrote but it doesn't come across that doesn't mean you have to throw it away, rather that you have to work your way through the parts that don't work for it. I've removed chapters of hard work and written something completely different after a first developmental edit, and it did wonders. And the same can be the case with you. Just don't give up, and use any opportunity to improve your manuscript.
Mirà Kanehl Editing String Of Treason (The Sorceress' Child Book 2) and writing In The Dancer's Shade (The Sorceress' Child Book 3).
Mirà Kanehl It's always different and depends on my mood. I have an inherent love for writing, so it doesn't take much. A soft breeze (I imagine the wind carries kisses across the oceans), a funny incident (for example when my little sisters, aged 7 and 10, say or do something, kids do the funniest things!)... but I get most inspiration when I'm laying in bed--trying to sleep, but instead filling out the details of the scenes I'm working on.
Mirà Kanehl I collected inspiration for over 10 years. They changed a lot as I grew up (I started when I was 15).
