It is no good sitting looking at the screen. I walk away and do something else. Sometimes the answer doesn't come until the next day, but frequently I have hardly left the room and then I go straight back to it.

My inspiration for A Different World came from reading The Forgotten Few: the Polish Air Force in World War II by Adam Zamoyski. The Poles were our staunchest allies and the men and women who came to the UK to fight (leaving behind their loved ones) were fighting for their very existence. I am not alone in thinking they were not treated as well as they deserved when it was all over. I wanted to do my small bit to redress that while at the same time writing a tender love story to reach out to my readers.
