Alex Thomas Write! And read. You probably heard that advice from other writers before, and you probably thought how unspecific and how unhelpful that advice sounds, but it is the truth. You become a writer by writing. Read and take note of how other writers construct sentences, paragraphs, books. Write, write, write. Only through writing you will learn necessary technique, and only then you can find your own voice.
Alex Thomas Addressing the question of what makes us human. Thinking aloud using the voices of our fictional characters and going on adventures with them.
Alex Thomas There's lots of debating this term. For us, it just means that you haven't listened enough to your characters. We found it useful to stick with our main protagonists and asking each of them what they want, what they NEED to do next. By being (more) stubborn than our characters is probably the short answer.
Alex Thomas We (i.e., Alex and Thomas) read a lot and watch a lot on telly. The stories mainly differ in their protagonists. Thinking and discussing what we watched characters develop, and they want to tell us their stories. So giving them names and answer such questions as 'What do you want?', 'What's your driving force?', and 'What is your living situation?' gives you a starting point. In the end, we 'just' explore their little universes, I guess.
