Write a lot. Read even more. In general, when I talk to newer writers, a lot of them are concerned with finding guides and worksheets and stuff to fill out - when in truth, past a certain level of planning, I think you're better off jumping in and putting words on the page. Everything is a first draft once! Don't expect it to be perfect from day one, and just get to it.
