(view spoiler)[Hi Jenna! Thank you so much for reaching out and telling me that! I love connecting with people who have similar experiences.
Moms! Amiright? (facepalm)
As for the dating, well things are still in play with Michael and I really have allowed myself to just enjoy the moment and (try not to) obsess about all the nonsense. And to tune out my friends' well meaning voices. You get to a point where enough is enough I spose....
My family is very proud - Dad especially. Mom is proud too, but wishes I didn't have to talk so much about the dating...

Aside from the fact that during these bouts, my closets are pristinely organized; I find it helpful to write shortly after I've woken up - when my mind is most lucid and least cluttered by the day's noise. Hi RJ,
Thanks for the props and thanks for the question!
If/when you read the book you'll notice I try all the different ways to 'FIT IN' only to fall on my face and ultimately realize the concept is more of an inward-focused one, instead of something external as I'd spent my life chasing. In this case, I tell readers - if you want to 'fit in' do the opposite of what I did in the book. Let me be your cautionary tale ;)

As an Iraqi immigrant who grew up in Kentucky, I’ve always felt like a fish out of water or like I was at the wrong end of the table. So much so that I decided to write about my experiences navigating two worlds in hopes it might help someone else who might be feeling the same.
