I try and surround myself with as much art as possible. Trips to museums, listening to new music, reading (lots of reading!!) and travel. You have to constantly fill yourself with the transcendentals to be able to produce your own.

Talking about literature and going deep into the meanings of works with students. I love seeing my students search through their own feelings and insights, and watching them learn how to articulate those feelings.

Travel mostly. Nature and travel are my biggest inspirations. Living in Colorado sure helps! I make road trips every summer to get some fresh perspective and inspiration.

My next book of poetry “Love Stories from College” is in the final stages of editing and will be going to print this Spring 2019! I’m also working on two new collections titled “Roadtrips and Love Poems” and “Interstate Hearts”.
