I don't know if there is a "best thing" about being a writer. There are many good and great things and there are many not so great things, but the one that stands out the most to me is a visible milestone. "Oh look, I started writing... Oh wow, I've almost made it halfway... Oooh, I'm halfway there... Gah! I'm almost done! Woo-hoo! It's finished!!" No, it's not that easy, but it is easy to see when you step back and look at where you were when you started.

Don't give up on yourself when things start getting difficult, and they will. We all have things that step up to challenge us, but they make the journey worth it in the end. You've learned valuable information about the difficult task, about yourself, or both. Just keep going.

Anything can trigger an inspiration, but turning on some good music helps the flow when inspiration does hit.
