Sarah L. Campbell Creating your own world inside your writing. I love writing the fairy Imelda stories because I can add a lot of magic, fairy dust, wands, flying etc and create all these fairy characters. It's a world I would like to just jump into! Sarah L. Campbell I normally start with an idea or theme I want to explore and create a story around that. For instance, in Forty Cats, one of the main themes is not judging a book by it's cover, or not judging people on what they look like. I also wanted to write about issues that children face such as bullying and friendship.
Sarah L. Campbell As a child, I had a fear of witches from being read archetypal witch stories. I wanted to write a story that questions the portrayal of a witch as nasty or evil and challenge opinions. There's a lot of myself in the character of Katy as well.
