'With Love From Bratislava' very closely mirrors my actual experiences during my first year living in Bratislava. I'd say it's 99.5% pure memoir, 0.5% creative licence. For example, I've used pseudonyms to conceal the names of real people in the story. I’ve also deliberately changed or compressed a few details of my interactions with the original immigration consultancy to further anonymise them, without straying too far from what actually happened.” Otherwise, it's a fairly faithful account of my life during that first year in Slovakia.
