Sherry A. Phillips I've always had a fascination with serial killers. It's fascinating to me how they think and can compartmentalize their lives. Someone like Ted Bundy was seen by many as a really nice guy, yet he was anything but a nice guy. As I thought about someone being stalked by a serial killer, I wondered what would happen if I kicked it up a notch? What if the target was blind?
Sherry A. Phillips I don't know where my inspiration comes from. I could hear a song, or overhear a conversation, or see a news story and then my mind starts wandering into a whole new world of places, characters and situations. It's like I'm seeing a movie in my head.
Sherry A. Phillips I'm currently working on another romantic suspense, Life of Valor, which has a really nasty serial killer in it. I'm also working on the first book of a middle grade fiction suspense series I plan to release this fall.
Sherry A. Phillips Write what you want to read. Don't try and write according to what's hot at the moment. If you have a story that you love and you can't wait to tell it, then write it.
Sherry A. Phillips The best thing about being a writer is living vicariously through my characters. It's why I love reading. I can experience so many emotions, situations, people and places just by picking up a book. I love that about reading and writing.
Sherry A. Phillips I just keep writing, even if what I'm writing is worthless. I have found that if I write even when I don't feel like it, I'm usually able to salvage something from what I've written.
