The years before and after the Civil War boggle my mind. How could our country fight brother against brother? Who were the players in such a disjointed time in our history? And what about the women? What supreme strength they must have shown in the face of so much uncertainty. As I dug deepeer into many personal accounts of this time, I knew I wanted to tell their stories.
