Hi Cintia; I would try to disconnect from industry news and just write your story. There is always room in the market for a well written book that you are passionate about. Writing what you love makes the writing shine. I know that's not a concrete thing you can do but fixing your headspace can be the best way to get out of your own way and start writing.
For something concrete I'd write a small amount each day either long hand or in a document. Like 200 words and just slowly start building your story. Eventually you'll gain momentum and get that book finished. :)
Another tip I have is to make a Pinterest board (vision board if you're not an online person) and a playlist that is evocative of your book. Those things are fun and always get me thinking about my book. A lot of times I'll find an image on Pinterest that is perfect for my characters and inspires a scene.
Hope this helps! Happy writing. :)

I'm waiting for Eve Gaddy's The Cowboy and The Doctor. Terri Wilson's It Started With A Diamond, Nancy Robards Thompson's A Bride, A Barn & A Baby and Cindy Kirk's Forever in Good Hope. What's on your list??

No real mysteries as I've always had a pretty nice life. But one time there was an escaped prisoner near our house when I was growing up. And we had to stay inside all afternoon ( I was 8 or 9) and my sisters and I stared out the window making up stories about where he could be. :)

Carol;
Hi. I'm just seeing this message. I don't like to see mistakes either. Some of it is the formatting with digital books. Also that book has been plagued with problems every time we upload it. So I think that is another issue. I can tell you that myself, the editor at Tule and several proofreaders have gone over the book. I really do try to make sure that every book I have out there is as clean as it can be. I'm sorry The Billionaire's Pleasure wasn't a satisfying read for you.

I'm currently working on the second book in my Sons of Privilege duet that will be available from Harlequin Desire next year. :)

My most recent title is Where There's A Will which I co-wrote with Eve Gaddy. We came up with the idea for our Whiskey River series by thinking what if this charming Texas millionaire died and at the reading of the will his sons found out they weren't his only kids. :)
