Does this book stand up alone? Like does the book end without anything needing to happen? You mentioned you were working on a sequel...? does this book need the second book to wrap up the entire plot/storyline?? i don't want to read something that isn't finished, and don't really know if it'll ever be finished...

The plot for this story runs to a conclusion but there is scope for continuation in a sequel. I have drafted one but not sure if I’ll ever publish it.

D.S. Smith The Police said they had scoured the house and the man was no longer inside. But they hadn’t check the drawers of the divan on which I now lay.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
D.S. Smith This is only my opinion, but don’t try to be to formulaic. Write freely letting the characters and storyline develop themselves.

What are you currently working on?
D.S. Smith I’m working on the sequel to ‘Unparalleled.’ It has a working title of ‘U2’ but I won’t be using that. I’ve written the first couple of chapters, introducing new characters. I have no idea yet how they will interact with the protagonist from the first book.

How do you get inspired to write?
D.S. Smith Inspiration comes from all around - The people I meet, the places I visit, the situations I experience. They all get thrown into the mixing bowl that is my imagination.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
D.S. Smith The initial idea came about 10 years ago after a visit to the zoo. The prologue is all that remains from the idea I had that day. The story developed itself over the following years.
