Marcus Lynn Dean She'll come on you in silence, at the closing of the day. She'll smile on you in silence, as she steals your life away.
Marcus Lynn Dean Short answer - from my own genetic testing through 23andMe.
Marcus Lynn Dean That is a good question. One for which I don't have a good answer. I have always loved reading, and reading makes me want to write. That, and I'm inspired by my grandchildren and the mess that we, as a society, are leaving for them to deal with.
Marcus Lynn Dean My new novel was inspired by 23andme and the whole genetic testing craze. That, and the changes to our world in my lifetime. Like "The Scream Of An Eagle", it also delves into the near future. I'll just leave it there, for now.

Marcus Lynn Dean I used to think that I was totally satisfied with writing, just for the sake of writing. I guess the short answer is that readers are the best thing about being a writer.
Marcus Lynn Dean Writer's block has never been much of a problem for me. When I find that I'm struggling with a particular chapter or segment, I review how I got to that point and the issue usually resolves itself. Sometimes that means discarding some of what I've written and starting over on that section, but it keeps me writing.
