Tonya Penrose When I'm not promoting and doing Old Mountain Cassie's, bidding, I have another novel that I just completed the first draft of "Shell Isle Mysteries: The Case for Eavesdropping." I promise to share more about this humor mystery soon.

Additionally, Cassie, the characters of Divine, and readers of "Old Mountain Cassie" have been chattering ideas incessantly about the next story in the series. I feel the pressure, too.

Then there's "The Benefactor" a romance with an unusual twist that's waiting in the wings. Well, actually a spiral notebook is the keeper of the first 30 pages. This will be a fun story to pen and a new genre for me.

Tonya Penrose I contributed short stories regularly to an anthology series. The book's theme was anything to do with the mountains. I sat down to crank out a ditty and Old Mountain Cassie introduced herself on my blank sheet of paper. When I asked my writers group to edit the short piece, they declared the character of Cassie too fascinating and engaging to be contained by 500 words. This group of writers bullied me until I gave in and let Cassie's story blossom into a novel.
