Luke Newman I travel to Kathka every time I sit down and write. Fayne's adventures are my adventures through that land.
Luke Newman "I'm going to miss him," I said, looking down at the casket as they lowered it slowly into the ground.

"Don't worry," the dark robed figure replied, adding...."You'll see him soon."
Luke Newman Being able to see my dreams and fantasies come true on the page.
Luke Newman So very sorry for such a late response!! I've been horrible at keeping up with this page. I hope that if you were considering writing, that you are doing it!! That's the first piece of advice I would give. Just write, every day. The second would be to write first, edit after. Don't get caught up in editing as you go. Your story is a fantastic sand castle. Your first draft is you filling the sandbox sand. Editing happens AFTER the first draft....when you have enough sand to sculpt that castle and make it perfect.
Luke Newman So very sorry for such a late response. I've been awful at keeping up with this page.

When you asked this question, I was working on Under A Shadow Grim, the 3rd book in my LEGENDARY Series. Now, I'm working on Rougnecks and Cut Throats, book 4! They follow Fayne and her friends as they discover the truths behind the myths and legends of their world.
Luke Newman For me, inspiration can come from anywhere. The way the fog hovers over the ground on a cold morning. Or, the way my youngest dances around the house. I definitely get a lot of inspiration from music.
Luke Newman Soooooo sorry for such a late response! I've been awful at keeping up with my Goodreads account.

When you asked this question, I had just published the Mask of the Howling Storm and was starting Under a Shadow Grim. For the LEGENDARY series, my ideas come from the myths and fairytales we all grew up with. The Mask of the Howling Storm was largely inspired by "the big bad wolf," while Under a Shadow Grim takes inspiration from the boogey man myths from around the world.
Luke Newman Probably not the most popular answer...but I don't believe in writer's block. Do I believe that writers sometimes have a hard time getting their ideas out and onto the page? ABSOLUTELY! But I don't believe that a writer can sit down to write...and NOTHING comes out? Not so much. If the story (or poem, or article, or whatever) you intended to write isn't coming....switch gears and write something else...ANYTHING else. Just write! Everyday. I find that doing so helps keep my stories flowing.
