The best thing about being a writer is perhaps the sense of freedom to express what would otherwise be stifled. I would also say, it's the ability, if you like, the opportunity, to tell a story to the world, to express your innermost feelings and sensibilities, and contribute to ideas.

Typically, I "walk away" for a while and try to concentrate on other things, such as reading, watching movies and so on. I let time pass. Of course, it's harder if I have a dateline, in which case I research hard. But if it's a novel, I wait for the inspiration to come and it always does, usually, when I least expect it.

The idea for "Take Back the Memory" actually came from another story I wrote. A chapter in that story about a woman who was unable to fall 'out of love' with a childhood sweetheart who had abandoned her for priesthood, intrigued a friend of mine and led to discussions that inspired me to create an entire book on her life story.
