Robert Starnes When I get writers block, I go to a public place. I will go to a mall, coffee shop, or park where there are a lot of people. I will sit and listen to music, because with myself having Autism Specturm Disorder, it helps me relax and feel the creative energy of the others around me at those places. I dont force my writing, I let it come to me.
Robert Starnes The best thing about being a writer is that you dont have to become famous to feel accomplished. I already know that I am a success to myself and family, because I set out to write a short story that ended up being my first Historical Fiction Novel. I’m proud of myself, my family is, and so are my friends. If you are writing for you, then you are the only person you need to please. It’s your story so there is no right or wrong on how it goes. So start writing it today!
Robert Starnes If you have never written before, research how to write a short story first. That is what I did and it was so I could get my feet wet. Trying to write a first time Novel and not knowing how did not work at first for me. Or I would suggest writing about something you know, that is why I wrote the Leasing 101 Guide first. I have been in the Multifamily Housing Industry for 16 year when I wrote it, so it was much easier for me.
Robert Starnes Book two, ‘School Bound’ of the Saving History Series, as well as rebranding my Multifamily Housing Guide - Leasing 101 Garden Style Edition. I want to release it through my my Pubulishing Company as well as releasing the Mid-Rise/High-Rise Edition this year. I am also working on The Multifamily Housing Guide - Assistant Manager 101.
Robert Starnes When dealing with agoraphobia I only left my apartment to go to work or go to my Mankind Project meetings, so for me to get out more often I would have to research lots of details about where I was writing about online. This gave me the feeling of being outside without worries, because I knew I was home and safe.
Robert Starnes I wanted something to do to pass time along during a time I had agoraphobia and also wanted to give my nephew, who at the time was non-verbal autistic, a hero in hopes that his first novel he reads will be mine about him.
