One of my favorite character's in The Journey series was a troubadour who just kept showing up and following Rapunzel around. I didn't know what his deal was. Then he made HORRIBLE decisions in Amidst the Castles. Again, what was his problem? And then I discovered, what I thought made him special, his gift of wish, was actually a curse. And then I had to write his story in Under the Curse!

There is always something to work on, so if the story feels stuck, it may need to ruminate in the background as I go for a walk, work in my garden, or go on social media to discuss other booknerdiness. Sometimes discussing someone else's great book will help get my own characters talking again or I'll be able to skip ahead to a future scene and go from there.

I am preparing to release the first book in The Journey Series entitled Beyond the Tower. I was captivated by Rapunzel one day when she began telling me of her imprisonment and her year of journeying through the wilderness trying to make sense of her loss.
