The Blood of Caged Birds was one that I'd been working on since I was 16. The plot massively changed many many times. I wish I had done a few things differently in the first book but you live and learn. The second one has a lot more action and intensity. The third will have even more! I'm excited to have the entire series out this year.

Movies, reading, visiting bookstores, watching people interact- literally anything could be inspiration. Traveling also really puts me in the mood for writing.

I'm currently close to publishing the second book in the Mortalsong trilogy which will come out at the end of January. I am also nearly finished with the first book in a series that I am writing under a pen name which is due for publication around Valentines day!

Nike symbol. Just do it. Don't give up- faith in yourself. Don't forget to keep learning and refining your writing style. Be humble and also know that you have the capability to do anything, whether it is publishing a book, running a marathon, or getting your dream job. The key is belief in yourself and being willing to put in the work.

I've had a passion for writing my whole life! It's definitely one of those things I was born to love. The best thing is creating worlds, people, and plots that otherwise wouldn't have existed if I didn't bring them to word form. Another thing is that I'm constantly increasing my skill set and challenging myself to do better and raise the stakes with every book I write.

The biggest help for me when I hit a block is to remind myself that it's all in my head. That I will make the connection or find whatever I'm missing and sometimes I just need to sleep on it. Another thing I've found is just to push through the block by writing conversations between characters because it always sucks me into the story again.
