I either completely walk away and do something else, or I push through. Pushing through is the hardest. I usually delete what I write when I push through, but it isn't about what the words are but keeping up the momentum.

Martha Dreams of Dinosaurs is my first children's book, but certainly not my last. I've been an artist of one kind or another all my life. I also love children, especially my nieces and nephews, and was lucky enough to be a nanny to two of them. The inspiration behind Martha Dreams of Dinosaurs was a drawing/stamping art project my nephew and I did. If you look at the red circle, you can see a tiny little lady bug crawling up a long piece of grass. Her friend Stewart is in the shorter grass. As we drew and stamped I told a story of what Martha was seeing and it morphed into a great book about small and big, little and large, tiny and tremendous.

I went to school for creative writing, mostly screenplays, and fine art. Neither really spoke to me. As life went on I tried on many hats, but it wasn't until I started getting nieces and nephews that I was inspired to write and illustrate stories for them.

I just started writing my next children's book, tentatively titled "Marcy Knows Everything". It will be an illustrated book for ages 2-8. I'm very excited to write and illustrate more books. I am also getting ready to release "Martha Dreams of Dinosaurs", my first children's book. It is available for pre-order now until Sept 28, 2018, and will be distributed through multiple online stores at full price November 24, 2018.
