Sometimes an idea simply 'hits' me and I feel the urge to start writing. That's usually how I get started on a book. From then on it's a matter of sitting down and doing the work. I usually find that when I reread what I wrote the day before I know how to continue from there. It's like the words flow out of me (on a good day ;)

Just do it. And lose the 'aspiring' :) There's no such thing. When you write, you're a writer. You may have a lot to learn, you may not be published yet, but you ARE a writer.
Writing takes time and effort, like anything worth pursuing. But if writing brings you joy or you feel that innate urge to share your story, then make the time. Even if it's only fifteen minutes per day. It adds up. We want to hear your story. Will you tell us?

That there is no limit to what you can come up with. Especially writing fantasy I love I can give my creativity free reign. Plus it's a unique opportunity to dive into being a different person for a moment. Someone who does or thinks things that can be very foreign to what I would normally say or do. That intrigues me to no end.

I'm currently working on book two of the Bright Eyes trilogy! It's a joy to dive back into the world of Fleuris and find out how the story continues :) I love it when the characters surprise me (and they often do ;)

When I get stuck I usually go make myself a cup of tea. Nine out of ten times I have to run back to my computer before the water boils so I can capture the next sentence or idea.
If that doesn't work I might go for walk or I'll tackle something completely different.

The idea came to me one late summer evening. Just before falling a sleep these three sentences popped into my mind:
They do it again.
I’m so tired.
Did I turn them on?
I I realized this could be a book and put the concept aside. However, the idea kept coming back, badgering me relentlessly until I finally gave in. At last I realized this book would not be something I would write someday, but today, and the following weeks, months and almost three years. Once I surrendered and embraced the idea, I thoroughly enjoyed the process.
