Fayla Ott Read, read, read, and write, write, write. I cannot stress that enough. Also, set high expectations, but understand it takes time and much hard work to see them realized. Writers are huge dreamers, but we often get slammed with the realities of the writing world. Rejection and discouragement are a part of this life. However, when that one reader writes you to tell you how much your book meant to them, you'll remember why you're doing this. Keep going and don't ever quit.
Fayla Ott Just watching the story unfold. I am a by-the-seat-of-my -pants writer so I write as I go. Like readers, I like to see what will happen. Fayla Ott First I pray, then I read. That sounds simple, but that's because it is. Often, within only a few minutes, I am inspired to create again. For me, writer's block is usually just discouragement, so I feel encouraged when I read and pray.
