Cindy Winget I am sorry, but I honestly can't think of one!
Cindy Winget She looked in the mirror. What was reflected back at her looked like her, but wasn't.
Cindy Winget That's easy. Prince Edward Island from Anne of Green Gables. Yes, technically it's a real place, not fictional, but I am not sure if all the places in nature she describes in that series is real or not. I would like to experience the beauty of that place through Anne's eyes because every time I read those books it all sounds so beautiful and idyllic and I would like to take a stroll to all the places that she goes.
Cindy Winget well since its a long ways until Summer, I will instead tell you what is on my fall reading list. I always have a running reading list of at least 100 books I want to read (I know! It's out of control!) Since it's close to Halloween I like to read a few ghost stories or revisit classic gothic novels. My favorite horror author is Darcy Coates and she happens to be having a new book called "Voices in the Snow" coming out next month that I am anxious to get my hands on. I am also reading a lot of Michael Critchon books lately (just finished "Congo" and really enjoyed it) and I am working my way through "The Raven Boys" series right now by Maggie Stiefvater.
Cindy Winget For me its the beginning stage when ideas are flooding in. I literally have plot ideas for over 30 books I want to write and it is so much fun to lay there in bed or stand in the shower (when most of my ideas come to me) and just let my thoughts wonder. I also love the sense of self it gives me. I have recently become a stay at home mom (with another baby due in March) and its easy to think that all you are is a mother, but when I write I get to just be ME.
Cindy Winget Research. Research is everything. If you want to know how to self-publish or find an agent. Research it. If you want to make your historical novel believable. Research it. If you don't know how to market your book (which is currently what I am struggling with). Research it.
Cindy Winget Hmmm...that is a tough one. Sometimes, after going months with no inspiration, some random thing I read or see in a movie will spark an idea or fix a problem I was having with the plot, even though it didn't actually have anything to do with what my book was about. Other times I have to resort to asking my hubby. I will explain the problem and hope he can help me fix it ;)
Cindy Winget I am working on getting my second Calvacade book edited, but I am also currently writing a retelling that I am very excited about. It is a retelling of the two classic gothic tales, Frankenstein and Dracula. The premise being how the story would have gone if Frankenstein's monster and Dracula were one and the same.
Cindy Winget I don't necessarily need to be "inspired" per say. I have always loved to write and used to to write and illustrate stories as a kid about my stuffed animals and different adventures they would go on.
Cindy Winget I actually started Calvacade clear back in Junior High and had to re-write it many times as I got older and then finally finished a year or two after I got married. I got my inspiration from reading "Into the Land of the Unicorns" by Bruce Coville.
