Hi Gideon! My family experienced much of what Nicole goes through in what the book refer to as Marble Hall, including the diversity of my parents' friends at the time. But that is about where the biographical influences end. It is true that I lived in Greece in that society growing up. I saw a lot of what Nicole saw but I, personally, did not share most of her experiences. Zimbabwe is based in a lot of research, through both literary sources as well as questions to former members of certain military groups...

I still write my minimum amount of words every day, even if it is lackluster. Writer's block might sometimes be another term for lack of discipline.
