I don't. I write when I want to, or when I feel compelled to create and craft what I've written. Crafting takes lots of patience, but it pays off.

For me, it's fun, exciting! You're in control. Your create your little "world" create and solve problems. I just get lost in it.

Just write. Keep a notepad handy. When you get an idea, jot it down and think about it. Don't focus on polishing your writing at first. You can do that later.

I am working on the sequel to my novel. It consists of short studies in which some of the book's characters are featured. I guess I can't let them go! I expect this sequel to be ready around the first of the year.
I"m also working on a children's story. Thus far I've written it in adult language and I have to adapt it to my young audience. My daughter-in-law will do the illustrations.
I have begun a file on a mystery, as well.

This occurs in a number of ways. Things just come to me from just about any source you can think of. I'm interested in all kinds of phenomena . I'm a very curious individual. Dialog comes naturally to me. I've taught language for a number of years and have studied and taught literature as well. I guess I would say that my exposure to all kinds of things provides ideas for my writing. I'm a huge fan of the fine arts. I can write just about anytime anywhere.

The idea for my most recent book, "In the Garden of Aeden" came to me from a single image in my mind of a young woman sitting at the edge of the road, She was ripping up a letter and crying. A handsome young seminarian was passing by with his dog. He stopped to see what was the matter. From that single image came a two-act play. (I had just written 2 or 3 plays at that time.) I used that image as a starting point and created what became the substance for my full length novel.
