I just finished three books that were on my list. The Oysterville Sewing Circle by Susan Wiggs, She is a tremendously good writer that I have enjoyed reading several of her books.
Unforgettable You, the latest in Brenda Novak's Silver Springs series. Brenda writes in a lot of different genres; her most recent book out is Blind Spot, the conclusion of a thriller that will put the fear of God in you. Unforgettable You, is a romance novel about lost love, social status clashes, and second chances. It's a good story and really enjoyed reading it.
The other book that I just finished written by JoAnn Ross. The title is, Summer on Mirror Lake, which is her latest work and a part of her Honeymoon Harbor series. I love the way that she takes stereotypical characters, in this case, a single librarian in her thirties. It's a challenging retrospective stage in her life when she begins to think about what she may have let slip by in her life. It's an enjoyable read with a happy ending, which is a nice break from the stressful world around us.

I'd love to visit Virgin River, talk to the people, hike through the forest, fish for trout. Then enjoy a pleasant meal with a good, strong, drink at Jack's Bar.

Mr. Hallis, head split into two equal halves after the powerful blow administered by Slate. "There's nothing quite like the pleasure of using a sharp hatchet," Slate said with a satisfying smile.

What's next on my agenda is the sequel to Stolen (Lynn's Story). I'm about halfway in that story's first draft. Since I changed the ending to Stolen(Lynn's Story) there will be some rewriting so that both stories flows well into each other. Yet, I think the trick is to make them stand alone...meaning no spoilers for the previous book.

I think that for me, life is the inspiration. I tend to observe what is going on around me and listen to the stories that are unfolding. I started telling stories when I was four years old, so it's been there for quite some time.

I wrote a lot, took all sorts of writing classes from high school on. I read all of the time and learn from other authors. I like talking with other authors and actively engage with several well known author on a regular basis. I think the trick for any author is finding your voice. Honestly, I feel like there is a lot more in me and that I'm only scratching the surface and I have been at this for several decades.

I think as far as the actual writing goes, the best thing is seeing the characters come alive in the story. That is really a magical moment and then you know that you have something that is meaningful, it has a purpose.

That is a hard question to answer. It sort of depends on what is the cause of the block. A good story has a flow to it and when I try wrangle it in a different direction, then the flow just stops. Sometimes a story will ask more of me than I am willing to give, then I have to ask myself, "is the story worth it?". I have several stories I've set aside because it just didn't feel right or maybe I lost interest in it. Often when I give the story time, the block will wash out.

Although this is my first published novel, I've been writing for many years. Stories just come to me, sometimes I'll wake up with a story. Other times it might be an idea that I'll kick around in my head. Stolen was a gift, it just poured out of me.
