I really did not have this issue as the stories kept presenting themselves. If I had first published the book when I wanted to over two years ago the last three chapters of my book would have not been included. Which I felt those stories needed to be told so in essence the book was published when it was supposed to be published.

If you really want to write and publish then put your heart and soul into it. Do not be deterred by nay sayers. If there is a will there is a way. It took me 4 1/2 to finally get it done but what a great feeling of accomplishment and pride I now have that it is done.
