My research in several psychiatric instituitions. The things I have seen and observed in multiple places are much scarier than what I have written so far

I refrain from reading in my genre for the fear that I may subconsciously copy the writing style of an author. A unique style of writing comes with years of hard work and copying that work (or even sounding like that) intentionally or unintentionally is just disrespectful to the artist. So I wont read thrillers, horrors or fantasy. But I will make an exception every once in a while. :)

When I was about 12 years old, I wrote my first book- "Boo in the well of dangers", in that book, I created a fictional world called 'the non existing island' where there is magic, darkness and joy.
For me that is a special place because it was created with an innocent and untainted heart. I would go there to meet the forgetful mink and remind him that he has the second half of the map that leads to the lotus that unblooms every morning. I love that world and I think some day I may finish that book.

The world you create is rightfully your own, and you get to do anything and everything in it. You make the rules, you break the rules. You are the good guy and the bad guy. You get to spill your darkness and radiate your light all at the same time. Where else would you get such freedom?

Do what you do and write what you like. You will find your clan that will support you no matter what. Besides, haters gonna hate, potatoes gonna potate.

I am currently working on another psychological thriller loosely based on a true story. It is on a topic which is rarely justified in mainstream Indian media portrayed through the story of a small family willing to do anything to not be with each other.

I strongly believe that art cannot be forced. Writing is an art that must come naturally through stories, inspiration and imagination. Forced writing is a poisoned apple for the hungry. For me, words are my inspiration. They speak to me, like they have life and soul. I am a mere medium for them to tell their stories to the world. Some are silent and some scream, but they all have strong opinions.

The book is based on a true story. I researched for 4 years to get to know every character well and construct a plot around it to make the real story entertaining and interesting. My mother is a lawyer; this story was the one that she narrated to me as a child, stating that it was the grimmest case she had witnessed in her career. 15 years later, I wrote a book on it.
