My former writing instructor, Kathy Tyers, told me that writing a novel is a "long slog." She was so right. It took much longer, and required much more effort than I ever expected. Writing requires tenacity and a mindset to never give up.

2. Read James Scott Bell's book entitled, Write Great Fiction: Plot & Structure
3. Read Nancy Kress' book entitled, Write Great Fiction: Characters, Emotion & Viewpoint.
