Grace Tierney I'm finishing "Nit Roast & Other Stories" my comedy parenting novel which is serialised on the subscription reading platform Channillo.com. As always I'm keeping up with my nonfiction writing too - blog, column, articles etc. I'm also planning my 2019 - including the release of "Words The Sea Gave Us" - my next "word book" all about the nautical words in the English language.
Grace Tierney Positive feedback from a reader. My favourite version of that is reading my work aloud and hearing people laugh, at the right places.
Grace Tierney Writing is the best way to learn about writing. Workshops and writing groups help, but writing (and submitting!) is the only way to improve. If you're keen to write a novel - try www.nanowrimo.org - commit a month to your writing. I do it every year and the community is great.
Grace Tierney I write about the history of unusual English words on my Wordfoolery blog every week. My series about eponyms there gave me a chance to explore biographies as well as words. The people who gave their names to the dictionary are extraordinary and varied - inventors, chefs, villains, and style icons. I wanted to tell their stories to a wider audience.
