I've been a writer ever since I learned how to spell, but what inspired me to become a novelist was that beautiful little red-headed heroine Anne Of Green Gables. That book showed me that writing can be about simple everyday things, and that every average person has something worth saying.

Write what you want, not whats popular. If I had a penny for every book I saw based in Paris during the 1940s I'd be a very rich woman. A certain setting or topic may be all the rage right now, but if it isn't the story in your heart than it isn't worth writing.

Being able to create entire worlds out of your own thoughts. Its amazing what the human mind is able to imagine, and having the talent to transfer those thoughts onto paper is the most amazing feeling

I watch the films of the books or re-read the books that inspired me to become a writer in the first place. There's always a literary hammer to knock down the wall blocking your train of thought, and the best place to access it is to go back to where you first found it
