J.L. Trepanier I began my journey writing October 2016, in the midst of my junior year of college. I’d been whining about how I’ve always wanted to write a book. A fantasy book. The same kind of book that I used to stay up past bedtime reading when I was a kid. The same kind that enraptured me in new words of magic and adventure.

My best friend (now husband) basically told me “Well then, do it, coward.”

In six caffeine-fueled weeks, (four of those weeks corresponding with National Novel Writing Month 2016) I did it, coward.
I produced a 485-paged POV-shifting, head-hopping, telling-but-not-showing, plot-hole-riddled monstrosity about a half dragon teenager named Elaro, his team of quirky soldiers and human apprentice all on a quest to find the soul of the world to save it from evil winter. :)

And by some miracle, I found an editor who looked at my eyesore of a manuscript and said, “Yeah. This is the one. I want to edit this.”

Two years, several rounds of editing and beta reading, this wild story turned into Legend of the Stone Keepers.
