This could be a long answer. If you want to write, always have that pen and paper with you when an idea strikes you. I keep pen and paper by my bed (Yes, I am old school!) and when I dream I write it down.
How I started and completed this book is in one day in Greensboro, NC, I sat down and typed my whole outline on word. THAT only took one day! I am also an Indie publisher, that is hard and it was like learning a new craft. I learned everything the wrong way ONCE! Then I didn't make that next mistake again.
Don't spend your money on all of these conferences. Maybe go to one NYC has an annual large one. I have learned more from going on meetup and finding writers group. I've talked to people that told me of new writers groups in local bookstores and they are free! I have learned more from them (published and non published) than anyone!
