I don't normally get writer's block because I have a rare condition called Hypergraphia and I write until my eyes bleed. But on the occasion I do get it, I help myself out by going for a long walk (think 7 miles at a time) or I play the piano, or I listen to some classical music.

I absolutely love everything writing. I love every stage of the process. From pounding out the thoughts in my head, to turning them into words on a page, to editing each phrase and sentence into a beautifully crafted novel. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I was born for this. There's no part I love better than the other.

Just keep going. You're going to have days that you feel your work is the biggest piece of literary garbage that has ever existed in the history of the world, but every writer and author has felt that way at one point. Just keep going, keep writing, and keep pushing through your bad days. Reach out to other writers and authors for support and know that we've all been there. It's okay to feel down, and it's okay to need support. But it's not okay to give up.

The series I'm working on has been in the works for three years. Though it only took me a few months to write the first draft of it, I wrote a few books after and then went back through and revised and redrafted it. It's a paranormal/horror about a girl with the power to kill a human with just the touch of a finger.

Writer's block is not usually a problem for me, but as far as inspiration goes, I love classical music. I put on my iTunes and play The Piano Guys, drifting into a fantasy world.

I got the idea for MY LAST BREATH because I live in near Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and they sometimes fly over my house conducting drills. I decided that there isn't enough representation of the military today, and I wanted to be a light for the United States Armed Forces, who so willingly give their lives every day for our country.
