That is a very interesting and timely question! There is a mystery, or significant event, that happened in my childhood that has always stayed with me. It was supernatural in nature. It made such an impact on my life that my fourth book, due out this year, is the basis of that spooky happening! I can't wait to share more of the details in the coming months, but let's just say, I don't think it will disappoint. It is a change of genre for me and will be classified as a Supernatural Thriller! I can't wait for its release!

Marnie suddenly awoke from her terrifying slumber, a flashlight tight within her hands, only to find herself in a closed dark space. As the smell of moist earth entered her nostrils, she turned her flashlight on, only to realize that she had been buried alive.

(view spoiler)[I would travel to Hogwarts and experience one of those wonderful dinners they have, with floating candles above, ghostly figures floating by and unlimited choices of yummy desserts! I wonder if while in Hogwarts, magic could remove calories?!? Then those scrumptious dinners would not only be spectacular, but guilt free as well!!! (hide spoiler)]

I recently read The Big Redhead Book by Erin La Rosa which was such a joy to read during my down time. I also read Angel on the Wing by Joan M. Zeller, which was a very intense story of how she survived a plane crash in the choppy waters of the East River near La Guardia Airport. I truly enjoyed both books!

I love this question because there is no right or wrong answer to it! I enjoy long walks. I draw inspiration from them. Walks allow me to meditate, clear my mind and focus on ideas or scenarios I want to pursue. I also like real life stories. People who explain a happening or event may inspire me because I look for the connections and the miracle surrounding those events. I jot them down in my notebook and keep them for the right moment. Inspiration can come in the quiet early morning with my dogs and cat surrounding me at my laptop, a snowy day where there is no where else to be but in the coziness of my home, or just being touched by a specific moment. Inspiration does not have to momentous, but rather anything that sparks your inner voice to share.

I actually have two works in process. I had spent so much time on my first book in editing, publishing, and marketing that my writing has had to wane a bit. But during a short hiatus, I started dabbling in an entirely different genre, a supernatural thriller, set in two different time periods. One time period is set in the early 1700’s the other set in present day time. I enjoyed researching the 1700’s and melding the two time periods together. The other story line I am currently writing is a memoir, similar to my book Threads, but with two specific Threads that interlace together. It is exciting to see which writing journey I will choose next.

As of November 7, 2018, I was officially a published Author! I am so very new in regards to this territory! On November 8th I was invited to a local Junior High to speak with aspiring writers in the Young Author’s Club and some English Classes. This question came up when talking with these young creative minds. In response to this question, I discussed three key points. First, You are never too young or too old to write! If you have a creative voice inside that desires to come out, then let the prose flow. Second, Always challenge yourself! Attending workshops and educating yourself on creative writing techniques is so important. Learning is power when you are honing your craft. Third, and the one that had the most impact for me is to not let constructive criticism or negative feedback control your writing groove! It was those negative responses that forced me to look at my work and improve upon it, and what led me to finally published.

What a great question! This is my first book and I am still grasping the idea that I am a “writer”! I have so many answers to your question, but the one that stands out is the energy I get from sharing my voice. When I begin to write it is (for a good portion of my time) a very relaxing time. I love words. I love how when you put them together they make something beautiful, deep, scary or sad. They are so powerful. When I write, for that time I am creating a story that comes from a space somewhere within me, and when it is shared and read, the feedback is magical!

That is a very good question! Often I have to walk away for a bit and just decompress. I feel that when I force creativity to come and it does not, I tend to get frustrated. Many times I go for a walk, or a run, and clear my head. Other times the block maybe longer. That did happen in this book for about three months. I longed to feel inspired. That is when an event happened in my family that brought about raw emotion from within. It was that emotion that sparked my writing muse and a cathartic flow of writing emerged. It actually gave the book a little more flavor and relatability. That writer’s block actually helped me create a deeper meaning to my book.

Thank you for inquiring about my book, Threads! I initially started journaling short stories of moments in my life that had an impact, small or large, on me. Through several significant events in my life, I started to realize how closely connected we all are and that many of these connections were placed before me for a specific purpose. After hearing a sermon at church about a grand tapestry that we are all creating of an individual life, the idea was born! I felt that specific threads helped design our life’s picture and if we could direct them based on this idea, we may all be able to have a more meaningful and fuller life experience. The great thing about the sharing of this book is the immediate responses I have received. So many of us have similar life issues and therefore all the stories have some relatable aspect to them. I hope you get the opportunity to read it and identify stories within your own life!
