I'm ecstatic to see that you are writing a study of John A Scott. I loved his most recent novel N and was very disappointed to see how little attention it received. For my part, it made me hunt out some of his other novels and have a couple on the TBR. Do please let me know if/when the study becomes available? (That sentence has a question mark only because GR won't accept it if it doesn't!)

Yes, N is a true masterpiece, and it is full of references and in-jokes pointing back to Scott's earlier works that make reading it with a larger context even more rewarding. His earlier career as a poet can be difficult (both to find copies of the texts and to understand the obscurity of the language), but if you follow the thread of his work there is unity of vision that is extremely impressive. Naturally, that is the thread which structures my own study. I'm halfway through writing the book at the moment. I have a contract with Cambria Press's Australia Literature Series, so it should be published with them in 2022.
