Jason Deane Write something else that I feel inspired to write, literally anything, even just random thoughts. If all else fails, relax, do something else - especially something physical for a total change of environment - and come back to it when you feel like it. And, don't worry, you will!
Jason Deane Seeing the finished product and being able to promote and talk about your work. There is enormous frustration and satisfaction in writing and I love the constant yin and yang between the two.
Jason Deane Just go for it. The first time you open Word and sit with a blank page, it seems daunting, but as you type the message starts to unfold. Trust your instincts and let the word flow through your fingertips. Refine, re-read, get inspired by your own work as you go, building your confidence and building your story.
Jason Deane I have a whole bunch of notes on things I'd like to write about, including my first fiction piece written with my son. There's no timescale on these currently, but I suspect at least one piece will come out in 2019.
Jason Deane As many writers will tell you, sometimes it's easy and sometime's it can take a whole day to write a paragraph ... which you then delete when you re-read it. Some of my work is inspiration, but much is perspiration. Sometimes, you have to write when you just don't want to. Personally, I focus on the end goal if I'm struggling and break it down into smaller tasks (eg chapters) and tick them off from there. Sometimes, if I get stuck on a chapter I'm writing, I'll do another one that I 'feel like' doing and come back to it later with a different perspective.
Jason Deane Trying to explain what Bitcoin is to my mum one afternoon who was convinced I would be going to prison for running a global financial scam! I realised that if I could write something that was lighthearted, used analogies and explained everything from start to finish, yet was still interesting, thorough and detailed, it would help anyone trying to understand this new concept from scratch. In fact, it became the book I wished I'D had when I first started on my own journey into the world of Bitcoin.
