Oh! This is an easy one... In middle school, I went on a reading hiatus because I was dissatisfied. Not because of the way anything was written. I care much more about the story. The issue was that I couldn't find myself in stories. I'm a Black, bi, nonbinary womxn so... Yeah. Nothing was hitting right. Nothing was scratching my itch. Of course there were books out there somewhere, but I couldn't find them. Eventually, I decided to write my own books. The year I published my first book, is the year Children of Blood and Bone came out!!! YAAASSSSS! I recently started a booktube channel because my faith in books is slowly being restored. WOW. Just thinking about it makes me so happy.
Before all of that, I was always writing poetry and lucid dreaming. Yes, I had imaginary friends and they just might have evolved into two or three of my characters. See if you can guess who LMFAO. Trick question? IDK maybe. Define a trick...

Huuummmmm... Okay, so I don't think I've ever had writer's block. What happens is I get in an emotional ditch due to a mood swing or something and I lose touch with reality for a while. My "writer's block" is due to mood disorders, but I guess I can answer from that perspective. Usually, I'm literally always writing. If I'm not working on a book or some poetry, I'm journaling. It could very much be an addiction. Anyway, when I do get in a ditch, I remind myself why I write in the first place. As soon as I get a glimpse of reality, I try to journal. Through journaling, I can revive myself. Writing is my tether to the physical world.
Now, when it comes to "writer's block" regarding books... I usually just write about something else. I write what I want when I want. LOL. Perhaps writer's block happens because of deadlines or when writing isn't someone's main source of zen... IDK. I've never really understood "writer's block". I'm also a lonely introvert/hermit so maybe that has something to do with it.
If you get writer's block... Just don't write until you want to again LMFAO. Is forced writing really writing? It depends on what writing means to you. You're all valid though. I just have a different perspective. Whether or not you get "writer's block" doesn't mean anything. A writer is a writer. Liiit!
