Karson Lee My most recent book is the memoir based on my own life. I was abused as a child and decided, after many years of internal debate, to share my story with the world. Lost In Thought: Memories of an Abused Child is the book about my life.
Karson Lee I try to write as long as I have ideas, whether that is 30 or 3,000 words. When I am unsure of what needs to happen next, I will walk away and come back later. By the time I come back to my project, I either know what to write or I will erase what I'm unsure of and start my idea again (or write something entirely different if I am so motivated).

For my writing process, I like to put headphones in and turn on my favorite Metal bands. I seem to do my best work when I can focus on my favorite music. A little rage is therapeutic, for me at least.
Karson Lee I am currently working on two projects. One is the followup to my first novel, Lost In Thought: Memories of an Abused Child. It will detail the foster/adoption process that my wife and I are currently going through. From tips and tricks to what to expect at every stage, my next project will help people who are unfamiliar so that the process doesn't overwhelm or scare them away.

The second project is a Sci-Fi novel. I am about 20,000 words into the manuscript, but do not wish to disclose further at this time. :)
Karson Lee I would tell aspiring writers to keep pushing even when it seems impossible. Knowing that you want to write is the first step.

Second step is to figure out what motivates them and what kind of writing they want to do. Go with what you are good at and know. If it doesn't come easy, it might not be meant or it might be better left for another time.

Once you set your goals, write whatever comes to mind. Good or bad, every effort is further toward your dreams. Also, it doesn't all have to make sense or be in order now; it's not hard to organize later.

Don't rush the process. There will probably be agents and publishers saying no, that it doesn't fit their current needs or that they're not open to new submissions at this time. Keep pushing. Extra effort and determination now will soon pay off.

Karson Lee The best thing about being a writer is being able to open up and connect with people all around the world. It gives the writer a chance to help others in ways they could never imagine, whether it is to make them laugh on the worst of days or provide comfort for something bothersome.
