Ellie J Duck I would travel to Westeros, amid the thrilling and horrifying world of George R.R. Martin's, A Song of Ice and Fire. Whilst there I would do all that was in my power to convince Prince Rhaegar Targaryen and Lady Lyanna Stark to resist the temptation of each of for the good of the realm and the survival of their great houses. And wallop them both over the head until they listened, if need be.
Ellie J Duck The library was old, with stained glass windows and inviting plenty nooks that lured a reader into soft armchairs and secret alcoves so that they might better peruse the vast and infinte array of books the sturdy wooden shelves had to offer.

It was too bad about the fire.
Ellie J Duck Absolutely, we will. I'm in the final stages of the first draft for book 2, whilst simultaneously revising those parts that have long been written. Ideally, I hope to have the second installment in the Paranormal Division series ready for publication before the end of the year.
Ellie J Duck Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas
A Queen in Hiding by Sarah Kozloff
The Midnight Lie by Marie Rutkoski
Unwanted by Amanda Holohan
The Girl King by Mimi Yu
Ellie J Duck From reading a combination of way too many books within the same genre and featuring some of the same themes. You can only read the versions of others for so long before your own creativity is inventing twists and tinkering about with different themes, different issues, etc. I've read more novels featuring "human girl falls for werewolf boy" than I can count, and this is just one of my many takes on the same theme. I mean, who doesn't love a sexy werewolf novel, am I right?
Ellie J Duck Everything and anything can trigger it. A goofy person buying their groceries; a song on the radio; a conversation with my partner or my mother; literally anything can set me off and spark me into writing something.
Ellie J Duck Book 2 in my Paranormal Division series, alongside several works of fanfiction and a few other works of original fiction that are separate from the Paranormal Division world.
Ellie J Duck Write every day. Make some time, whether it's half an hour, the full day, I don't care. Make sure you write something every single day.
Ellie J Duck The outlet for self-expression and emotion. Without being a writer, I'm sure I'd have far too much going on in my head with all these characters creating alter egos to mess me up.
Ellie J Duck I don't really suffer it very often, but when I do, I tend to try filtering through my many works in progress to see if I can shake something loose, and if that doesn't work, I switch off for the night. I'll throw on the telly and binge watch a season of something, or sink to my eyeballs in Disney classics. If that fails, I turn to reading whatever I can get my hands on until my brain remembers how to form sentences. If nothing else works I'm a fan of the "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" method. Which is to say, I take a nap.
