As you can see from my reading list, I read many picture books this summer. I am always listening to books on tape and reading an adult book before bed. The one I just finished last night is a GATEWAY TO THE MOON and it was amazing! Also enjoying tremendously, Elin Hilderbrand's SUMMER OF '69 on CD. My husband loves it, too!

My newest book, Before I Sleep: I Say Thank You, comes out January 1, 2015 with Pauline Books and Media. A former colleague was speaking at lunch about an Oprah show she had seen mentioning how saying things you are grateful for each day can make you a happier person. She wasn't even speaking to me. I started my own nightly routine of saying things I was grateful for, and then woke up in the middle of the night one night saying over and over, "Before I sleep it's time to pray, to thank you God...." and wrote down on note paper the title, "Before I Sleep." It took ten years for the story to evolve and then it sold and there were some edits on that manuscript, too. It was the tenth story I wrote. (I've written about 60.)

I taught for 35 years and loved being able to inspire children. I can still touch little lives through my books. That's definitely the best thing about being a writer. And I love that I can work wherever and whenever I want!
