Donald Williams Jr. While reviewing some historical documents on the Montour family of French-Seneca heritage I happened across the story of the Gnadenhutten massacre. I so so taken by this tragic event that I did more research on it and felt a strong urge to put it down into story form.
Donald Williams Jr. For many years I have "toyed" with the idea of writing a book. I would come up with subjects, play around with a story line, do some research, and then never get anything off the line. I think if I sat around waiting to get inspired I would still be waiting. What is required is perseverance and determination. You have to sit and write something every day and soon the passion will begin to emerge. It can't be hit and miss combined with so much wishful thinking.
Donald Williams Jr. I have been doing research and preparing a "story line" for a sequel to Eighteen for Mercy. It, too, will be based on historical events that immediately followed the close of my first book.
Donald Williams Jr. I dealt with writer block by "letting go" for a period of time and without fail as I was thinking about other things, ideas about the book would come into my head. It worked for me.
